Joel doesn’t suck
By Deran | June 4, 2008
Joel Zumaya was worth the price of admission last night at Marchant Stadium. A great crowd of 1,205 was on hand to see what Joel could do in his rehab assignment. Well, he did ok. He routinely painted fastballs in the upper 90’s, even hitting 101 on the stadium gun a few times. Official report is that he topped out at 99 but that’s still very impressive for a guy coming back from shoulder surgery.
He also had a very good looking curveball that he consistently threw at the bottom of the zone. Needless to say, it was a treat for a baseball geek like me to watch. I hope I get to see him again before he goes to Toledo.
Final line had him at 2.0 innings, 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 strikeout, 0 runs.
