Not a pretty game last night for the Flying Tigers. In another statistical fubar, Rick Porcello takes the loss even though he still hasn’t allowed an earned run on the season. He pitched 5.0 innings, giving up only 4 hits, 0 BB, and 4 k’s, but is credited with 4 unearned runs thanks to some poor defense. Lakeland had a total of 5 errors on the night, two by Cale Iorg in the 4th inning.
On the plus side, Martin and Witt pitched great out of the bullpen. Iorg ended his slump by going 3 for 5 including a double, and Sizemore, Skelton, Strieby and Ott all added 2 hits.
However, Lakeland went on to lose the game by a score of 7-3 to even their record to 3-3.
