2nd Education Day Game Scheduled for Thursday
The Flying Tigers second Education Day game is scheduled Thursday, April 24th. The game is open to the public and is slated to begin at 10:30 a.m.
The purpose of Education Days is to educate Polk County third graders about the game of baseball through classroom work and hands-on activities. Before the children graduate from the Education Days Program, they have the opportunity to attend a fun filled Flying Tigers game courtesy of the Detroit Tigers Foundation of Florida and Publix Super Markets Charities.
At the game, children will receive a free meal. They will also have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities that have been designed to make the day a memorable one. Children will have the opportunity to participate in bat splash, mascot tug of war, pizza relay, dance with the vacuum, and many more. The game will also feature student public address announcers. To top it off, several mascots from organizations around Polk County will be in attendance as well.
Tickets for the second Education Day game and for all other Flying Tigers home games can be purchased at the Joker Marchant Stadium Box Office. The box office is located at 2301 Lakeland Hills Boulevard in Lakeland. For more information, please contact the Flying Tigers at (863) 686-8075.
