LFT Fan Club Meeting Sumary…

The fan Club met in Marchant Stadium yesterday evening. We had Gene Lamont as the guest speaker, which was pretty cool. He didn’t have anything groundbreaking to say.
Inge - Gene did make it clear that Dave would probably be willing to trade him for a bag of peanuts if a team is interested in having him as their starting 3rd baseman. He’s been a loyal Tiger for many years and Dave wants to grant his request to be traded. If March goes by and nobody wants him, than he will be our sub and will do some catching if Vance isn’t ready to go.
Website - the interns have been working hard and it sounds like it may be ready to go very soon, like in the next week or so. I’ll be on the lookout for that.

April 2 - Exhibition game vs Southeastern University
April 6th - Meet the Players
April 12th - 14th Road Trip to Clearwater (choose one night)
April 16th - Harrys Restaurant night
April 18th - Bat night
April 25th - Tee Shirt night
May 9th - Poster night
May 16th - Team Picture night
June 13 - All Star Weekend
June 24th - Bowling following 10:30 AM game with the players
June 27th - Curtis Granderson Bobblehead
July 15th - Tigers Players/Fans Golf Tournament
July 18th - Baseball Card night
July 25th - Justin Verlander Bobblehead
August 2nd - Tampa Bay Rays game road trip
August 17th - End of Year BBQ before game
Also, all Mondays will have buy one, get one free coupons in the paper, Tuesdays are Bingo night, Wednesdays are all-you-can-eat for $5 (plus admission), and they’re hoping to have at least two different caterers at each one! Thursdays are still USO night (dollar beer!!), Fridays are free give-away night (see above), and Saturdays are fireworks night.
Season Tickets - Renewal forms will be mailed on Friday and the ticket office will be opened on Monday to start accepting payments. A date for ticket pickup has not been set yet.
Bad News - Maybe not bad, it depends. They are still going to build the party deck, which is great news and I think we all appreciate that, and they were going to have to build it during the middle of the season. Ron put his foot down and told them they have to wait until September to start it. That’s good! The only problem is that the stadium will be closed from September 2nd into December. Which means the Instructional Leagues and everything else will be off-limits to the public. Unless they just move everything to the back fields. I’m not sure what will happen there. Picture taking will be diminished quite a bit though, unfortunately. But at least we’d be able to watch back there.
